Our Vision for our school year is:“The Highest Standards for All: Striving to be my Best, Every day in Every Way.”
It is our mission to“Prepare each student for life as a responsible, caring, and resourceful community member with a strong mind, body and character.”
It is hard to believe that we are half way through the year. We have hired 3 tutors with RLIS and Title I funds to provide additional instructional support for our students. The teachers are collaborating with the tutors to reinforce skills and provided strategies for students participating in End of Grade tests at the end of the year.
Retention letters were sent to students at third quarter mid-term deemed "at-risk" for the current school year because of any one or more of the following criteria: attendance, nine week grades in reading, math, science or social studies, students in grade 3 that are not meeting expected proficiency scores for the Read to Achieve requirements or did not pass a previous EOG or mClass assessment. If your child(ren) received a letter it DOES NOT mean that they will be retained but that they are at-risk of retention. We encourage you to contact your child's teacher to set up a conference to discuss specific areas of concerns. We have approximately 10 weeks left in the school year and much work to be accomplished. Please continue to encourage your child to do his/her very best each day.
For our children to be successful, it takes a school community committed to attending to all the needs of a child; academically, socially, emotionally, etc. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering their time to read with children please let me know.
